Engineering Services

Providing engineering services
ExMP provides structural, civil and hydraulic engineering services across all project stages. Our work is delivered through close collaboration with project teams, direct principal involvement and a focus on practical, buildable outcomes.
Early engineering engagement is encouraged, particularly where structural input during concept and design development can reduce rework and improve coordination across disciplines.

Structural engineering
ExMP provides structural engineering services for new developments, alterations to existing buildings and upgrades to existing assets.
Services typically include early concept input, structural design and documentation, and engineering advice during construction. Work is undertaken with consideration of site conditions, construction methodology and the needs of the wider project team.
Structural engineering services include:
- Concept and design development support
- Structural design and construction documentation
- Assessment of existing structures
- Alterations, extensions and upgrades
- Constructibility advice and coordination

Civil engineering
Civil engineering services are provided for site works and external infrastructure, coordinated with planning, approvals and downstream construction requirements.
The focus is on clear, practical solutions that integrate with architectural and structural design and respond to site constraints.
Civil engineering services include:
- Site works and earthworks design
- Stormwater and drainage design
- Pavements, hardstand areas and access infrastructure
- Coordination with authority requirements and approvals

Hydraulic engineering
ExMP provides hydraulic engineering services for Class 1 and Class 10 buildings, typically in support of residential and ancillary structures.
Services are coordinated with architectural and civil design to suit site conditions, regulatory requirements and construction methodology.
Hydraulic engineering services include:
- Stormwater drainage design
- Internal water reticulation design
- Sewer drainage design
- Coordination of hydraulic layouts with architectural and site design
- Documentation to support approvals and construction
For multi-storey or complex buildings, ExMP works collaboratively with specialist hydraulic consultants, maintaining coordination and continuity with the broader project team.

Investigation, rectification and asset engineering
ExMP provides investigation and remedial engineering services for existing assets, including condition assessment, defect investigation and repair strategy development.
This work is undertaken with a focus on understanding cause, extent and risk, and developing practical rectification approaches that are appropriate to the asset and its use.
Services include:
- Condition assessments and engineering inspections
- Defect investigation and diagnosis
- Repair and strengthening strategies
- Asset management support
- Insurance and independent engineering reporting
Insurance and independent engineering reporting is evidence-based and focused on technical assessment, cause and scope, rather than advocacy.

Construction phase support
ExMP provides ongoing engineering support during construction to assist with technical clarification, compliance and issue resolution.
Direct principal involvement is maintained, supporting continuity of understanding and efficient decision-making as construction progresses.
Construction phase services include:
- Site inspections and compliance input
- Responses to RFIs and design clarifications
- Review of contractor proposals and alternatives
- Ongoing coordination with the project team
How we are engaged
ExMP typically works with:
- Architects seeking early structural input and ongoing design collaboration
- Developers requiring clear, buildable engineering solutions
- Contractors needing responsive technical support during construction
- Facility and asset managers managing existing buildings and infrastructure
ExMP is based in Tasmania and services projects throughout Tasmania and Australia.
